5 Top Tips for Wedding Flowers at Cassegrain Wines

Cassegrain Winery is such a beautiful setting for your wedding ceremony and reception. It has a formal garden that is surrounded by tall mature trees, it has lush surrounds, making you feel like you are stepping onto a movie set where you can be the star. It has an old world feel yet it is modern and elegant. It is definitely romantic and really does have a sense of style and glamour. In November the large mature jacaranda and flame trees are a vision! Not to mention your wedding photos amongst the vines.

There are several options for your reception in both the Two Triple Four Restaurant and the Barrel Room (which is huge and has a great sense of sophistication as the wine barrels literally line the walls). You can really go all out with floral options in this venue or keep it super simple depending upon your budget.

I have outlined below a few tips to help couples think about wedding flower options for the venue to get you started. The great news is the possibilities are endless and are completely open to your imagination so at the end of the day, just go with what feels right for you, what represents your personality and as always don’t hold back on the colour. At this venue any colour palette will work!

Here are my 5 top tips on your wedding flowers for Cassegrain Wines:

1.       Definitely have an arbour or ceremony feature for the formal garden, as this will draw your eye to you, given the surrounds are quite large you do need to think about scale and size – sometimes less is more too so even a designated area for where you stand with an arbour, pillars or large urns behind will draw the focus, additionally you could add florals along the sides of the aisle too, there is plenty of space for this

2.       Utilise some simple table florals such as some small arrangements for your after ceremony drinks in the formal garden to transcend this area prior to moving to the reception, these don’t need to be extensive just a few small designs will do

3.       For the reception area in the Two Triple Four Restaurant I love the idea of utilising the ceiling and having a ceiling installation above the bridal table, in the middle of the room, or above guest tables to bring the outside in, this could simply be green foliage or baby’s breath chandeliers which could then compliment small arrangements on the tables, or you could go all out have a full floral ceiling installation to really create an enchanting feel to the reception area.

4.       For the Barrel Room reception option, long tables are perfect for this setting with a tablescape collection of florals along the middle with a mix of feature arrangements (different heights look fab!) such as low rise stunning crystal bud vases, ceramic compote vases or urns filled with premium blooms to really create some magic. You could also add some serious bling with candlelight inter woven amongst the floral tablescape to enhance the ambience further.

5.        Lastly colour, colour, colour – don’t be afraid of using colour for your wedding florals they can truly bring such energy and beauty to your wedding day so don’t be shy with this, particularly for the Barrel Room reception option, against the earthiness of the wine barrels the contrast of colour is seriously breathtaking.

I hope the above tips are useful for you when you are considering floral design ideas for your wedding at Cassegrain Wines. This list is not exhaustive but should help to get you thinking about options and to create some ideas to start exploring further.

Some designers don’t like to talk about budget but for me this is really important. We always recommend that you allocate 25-30% of your total wedding budget to your wedding flowers to ensure you allow sufficient budget for the type of event and mood you want to create for your wedding day. Flowers are an art form, that mother nature has created for us to celebrate. So lets make the most of it.
