What to include and what not to worry about

Everyone loves flowers but not many people know a lot about them, particularly where to start when planning your wedding, and that’s ok! You don’t need to. That’s why we are here to help you navigate through it all, to make informed decisions on how to get the most out of your budget.

Here’s a quick blog on options to include for your wedding flower wish list for your big day and maybe what’s not super important that you can maybe live without. Below are some quick ideas to get you started…

When you meet with us, we’ll always ask you what your wedding flower wishlist is, and what is your budget,(hot tip - don’t be surprised if the florals you are wanting are out of your budget range, they often are and that’s ok too!). That’s where we can recommend what’s worth investing in and what not to worry about, depending on the style of your event and what’s most important to you as a couple. After all, your wedding day is all about you and how you would like to celebrate it. It’s important to us that you feel that you have gotten the most from your budget and that your florals are a worthwhile investment for your big day.

Here’s some of our ideas to include on your wedding flower wishlist.
For the ceremony:
⁃ Bridal Bouquet (always worth investing in that suits your style and mood for the day, it will be a key feature in your wedding photos too)
⁃ Smaller bridesmaids bouquets
⁃ Buttonholes for groom and groomsmen, and maybe one for father of bride
⁃ Welcome sign florals or foliage (they don’t need to be huge, just some to welcome your guests and set the scene to tie everything in)
⁃ Small vase arrangement for signing table
⁃ An arbour or ceremony installation definitely gives that ‘wow’ factor but doesn’t need to be a full arbour it can be two smaller design elements, a half size arbour, two plinths adorned in florals or even a large urn centrepiece.

For reception:
⁃ Bridal table feature centrepiece (or this could be replaced with your bridal bouquets in vases) again this is a focal area and could cascade down the front of the bridal table or sit on top, or for even more wow factor hang from the ceiling above you both
⁃ Tablescape bud vase collections for guest tables which still give a beautiful floral line along your table without the price tag, or alternatively, Guest table centrepieces (these don’t need to be super large as guest tables will already be fairly full of dinnerware, possibly candles, etc)
⁃ Reception installation maybe? I would recommend this be placed behind the bridal table for full impact and to draw the eye to you both (If this is an option you would like to do, you can always skip the bridal table feature as above)
⁃ Candles and more candles (can never have enough soft lighting it really enhances the romantic mood, did you know you can hire these from us..! include in your wedding enquiry form, link below)
⁃ Cake florals
⁃ Bar florals are recommended if the bar area is a key feature for your reception or is important to you both

What we would recommend skipping:
⁃ Corsages for extended family members
⁃ Pew ends
⁃ Aisle florals arrangements (after all you are the focus down the aisle)
⁃ Gift table flowers
⁃ Guest book flower arrangement
⁃ Toss bouquet
⁃ Bathroom florals
⁃ Single flowers on each table setting
