How do I get that Instaworthy 'Wow" factor?

A decent floral budget usually helps! But so does being smart with your investment too. Here’s some of our top tips to create a spectacular wedding with that ‘Wow’ factor that you’ll be pinching yourself for months after, wondering was that really my wedding? It was a fairytale come true.

Remember, we are always here to help you with your decision making, we know how many decisions you have to make and when decision fatigue sets in, we can bring a measured perspective. Plus, there’s always alternatives and options and many different ways to create your dream wedding, so let’s get creative and have some fun with it!

So if it was my wedding, this is what I would do to create the wow factor:

  1. Invest in statement pieces for the ceremony and ensure this creates a frame for the nuptials.

    This could include:

    • A ceremony installation with large urns or ceramic pots overflowing with blooms,

    • Numerous plinths with multiple or full elements, in different heights to create depth and dimension

    • Large aisle centrepieces, with sprinkled rose petals to line the aisle as your runway

    • An elegant full or three quarter arbour or circular groundscape (this looks so stunning in farms and vineyard settings)

    • Other props to complete the look and vibe, including soft chiffon drapery, lighting and always more candles!

It is so worth the investment. The reason for this is a lot of your favourite photos will come from the ceremony and this location. Don’t forget the extra elements like seating (think luxe velvet lounges for a country estate, or rattan chairs for a beach ceremony), the simplicity of the signing table, or the hills in the background all add to creating the perfect ambience for you.

  2. For the reception I would definitely consider:

    • A ceiling installation to float effortlessly above you, this creates a halo effect as though you are surrounded by nature, (is gorgeous for king and bridal party tables)

    • A floralscape for the bridal table or the mantelpiece that seems to go on for forever and ever…

    • A backdrop of plinths behind the bridal table to create a wall of florals behind you

    • A waterfall of prettiness along the front of the bridal table, creating a spectacular floral visual and naturally draws the eye to you. Plus you get to enjoy it, as well as your guests.

    • A cascade installation of blooms and foliage for informal/ garden seating, or flowing down the cocktail bar, which brings sophisication and brings continuity for the whole experience for your guests.

  3. When choosing the perfect venue, consider how much you want to fill it with blooms and foliage, sometimes a more intimate venue is the way to go, or a larger venue (depending on guest numbers) gives you more flexibility and grandeur, either way any venue can truly be transformed into a floral wonderland

  4. Block your colour theme!, meaning identify your chosen colour palette than set your mind to create a rhythmic flow to this colour scheme throughout your ceremony and reception settings - this not only looks impressive but creates a natural flow throughout, no matter what your chosen colour palette. Note: don’t be afraid to use colour, it always looks spectacular!

  5. Lighting is crucial - candles and more candles you can never have enough, more importantly, a soft glow rather than stark white softens everything to create a relaxed, intimate and loving mood. Festoon lighting creates a party festive vibe and perfect for the over the dance floor.

  6. Layering and dimension particularly with your florals fills a space beautifully, utilising statement pieces at different heights, in different size glass/ceramicware creates depth and a continuous flow. Note: it’s not always about the volume of flowers but how you layer/place them in the space
